Gee Beat: biography and press kit

Gee Beat has spent most of his life behind the decks. His connection with electronic music began at twelve, when hearing Paul Kalkbrenner's "Sky and Sand" while in Ireland sparked a fascination that quickly turned into DJing — and eventually into nearly two decades of learning how to read, move and surprise a dancefloor.

That experience remains at the core of Gee Beat today. Rather than staying on a single musical line, his sets move fluidly through house and tech house, combining rolling grooves, funkier influences, familiar references and unexpected records. Selection, improvisation and risk are fundamental to his approach: the goal is never simply to play something different, but to make it work without losing the floor.

His productions channel that same philosophy into a more recognizable sonic identity. Basslines sit at the centre, surrounded by groovy percussion, Brazilian and Latin rhythmic influences, spoken vocals and subtle trippy elements. Rhythm comes before melody, with every element serving one purpose — movement.

Alongside a growing catalogue of original music, Gee Beat has taken his sound well beyond the European club circuit, performing internationally from Singapore and Egypt to Paraguay and Guatemala. His productions have landed on labels including Trax Records, Machaca La Membrana, Mood Child and Cacao, receiving support from artists such as Jamie Jones, Hot Since 82, Manda Moor, Paco Osuna and Mason Collective.
